PaintAmerica’s “Paint the Parks” is an open international artists’ juried competition with proceeds to help fund the PaintAmerica mission of supporting the visual arts and artists across the country. A portion of proceeds from “Paint the Parks” will be contributed annually to the National Parks Foundation and the PaintAmerica Scholarship Fund.

The 2009 “Paint the Parks” Call to Entries has a final deadline of May 31, 2009. 2009 Judges will be announced in April of 2009.

Paint the Parks100 is America's leading competition and exhibition designed to illustrate the beauty and significance of America’s National Parks. Paintings entered must depict one of our nation's 390 areas supervised by the National Park Service. Go to www.nps.gov for a complete list of all eligible National Parks, Monuments and other areas. All entries will be individually scored by a jury panel of nationally recognized artists or arts professionals, with winners in each of the three National Park Regions, plus a Grand Prize Purchase Award Winner. The “Paint the Parks100” winning paintings are chosen to go on to a national touring exhibit. With this honor comes national exposure, through an online and touring exhibition, professional national publicity and attention. The competition’s overall winner claims a $10,000 Grand Prize Purchase Award. Other artists in the “Paint the Parks” competition also have an excellent chance to receive additional purchase awards, cash awards and prizes.

In addition, the “Paint the Parks” Mini Competition follows a similar format, but for paintings of 180 square inches in size or less. The Mini Competition will choose a Mini50, with a $5,000 Grand Prize Purchase Award Winner and additional cash prizes.
